Judges - God The Saviour of His People

Judges is a book about Saviours or delivers, which will point us to Christ, who came to save His people from their sins. Because after the death of Joshua the people have forgotten God, and are living just to please themselves. So, God has allowed their enemies to invade and conquer them as a punishment for their rebellion, and for failing to keep Gods laws. But they cannot save themselves so, they repent and cry out to God to save them. Then God in His grace and mercy sends a deliver to save them. So, then for a time there is rest and freedom from all their enemies. But soon they begin to forget God and the whole cycle begins again. (Rebellion = sin / Retribution = punishment / Repentance / Rest.) They forgot Moses's warnings, that obedience brings Gods Blessings, but disobedience, bring down Gods curse upon them. So, the cycle was to go on for about 7 times, over a period of about 410 years, between the years under oppression of 110 years, the was about 300 years of rest, whilst the about 13 Judges or delivers rule over them. Some of which ruled over different tribes at the same time. The five we most remember are Othniel, Ehud, Deborah and Barak, Gideon, Samson. They were just like most people today, we are all busy doing what seems right in our own eyes, do we leave any place for God in our lives. I wonder do you remember to Love and obey your God?
